Modern-day common rail diesel engines are usually extremely underpowered from factory compared to their true capabilities and we see increases of between 25 and 50% in power (KW) and torque (Nm) or more. This varies slightly depending on the individual vehicle make, model and the current condition of the vehicle's engine, fuel injection system and drive train.

What Is ECU Remapping or Re-Calibration?
From the factory, a vehicle's ECU is written with a 'tune' level suitable for average global markets for average driving conditions and average fuel quality. This factory base tune is designed to meet the needs of the broadest consumer base possible, suit many varying qualities of fuel from around the world, in varying conditions, and to meet strict emissions and meet different environmental standards that have been implemented around the world.

No piggyback chips or interceptors and certainly no resistor chips!
ECU remapping does not require a performance chip or a piggyback system to work.
Everything a remap does to improve your performance is done by altering the factory maps inside your factory ECU. This works by adjusting hundreds of parameters within the ECU. We expertly re-engineer torque management, fuelling and air/boost strategies to our specification to extract the best efficiency, torque and power, whilst retaining factory protection parameters. Whilst some of the best 'piggyback' chips/ECU's/controllers do a decent enough job and can even have temperature protections built-in for safety, the factory ECU has all of this functionality ALREADY! The best method of controlling the vehicle is through the factory ECU and using the factory sensors, factory safety levels, factory levels of control. With piggybacks, they can fail, they can get dust contamination, water damage, vibration damage, and other internal failures. That's the last thing you need to be worrying about in the Australian climate is your vehicle going into limp mode and disabled on the side of the road because your chip/piggyback ECU has some issue... With ECU remapping, there is nothing to fail. The calibration is hardcoded on to the ECU in the same way the factory tune was in the first place. There is no delay for the added performance with remapping. Whereas with chips and piggyback ECU's, there can be a noticeable delay for it to kick in because it is intercepting signals from engine sensors and adding resistance to trick the factory ECU into increasing the fuelling/boost/etc.
